The GreenSign program is awarded by the GreenSign Institute which is based in Berlin, Germany and labels hotels, SPAs and offices according to their sustainable engagement in national and international markets. GreenSign certified hotels meet criteria regarding ecological standards, social commitment and economic success and are awared with a GreenSign Level 1-5 according to their green status quo. Throughout the three years of certification validity, hotels have the opportunity to improve their sustainable performance with the help of GreenSign and its wide array of partners and experts. Since summer 2022, the GreenSign hotel standard has been recognized by the Global Sustainble Tourism Council.
