GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Horizon Europe is the EU’s key funding programme for research and innovation, with a budget of €95.5 billion. It addresses climate change, supports the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, and enhances the EU’s competitiveness and growth. The programme facilitates collaboration and strengthens the impact of research and innovation in developing, supporting, and implementing EU policies while addressing global challenges. It promotes the creation and dissemination of excellent knowledge and technologies. Additionally, it creates jobs, fully engages the EU’s talent pool, boosts economic growth, promotes industrial competitiveness, and optimises investment impact within a strengthened European Research Area. Legal entities from the EU and associated countries can participate.

DESCRIPTION

The call aims to enhance border surveillance capabilities, making them more effective and cost-efficient while upholding data protection and fundamental rights. It focuses on improving surveillance along sea borders, including critical maritime infrastructures, and addresses security concerns in the Arctic. The call also emphasizes better collaboration among authorities and improved interoperability of systems for streamlined operations among Member States and Associated Countries practitioners.

The project aims to foster sustainability within the tourism sector by promoting circular tourism services, minimising harmful substances and waste, and optimising resource utilisation. It seeks to implement systemic solutions tailored to various regions and promote circular, zero-pollution, and climate-neutral practices among service providers and users. The initiative also aims to introduce innovative solutions and affordable technologies to facilitate the transition towards circularity in tourism.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

(1) Propagate circular tourism services.

(2) Minimise harmful substances and waste.

(3) Optimise energy, land, and water utilisation.

(4) Implement replicable systemic solutions for diverse territorial needs.

(5)Promote circular, zero-pollution, and climate-neutral practices.

(6) Introduce innovative solutions and affordable technologies, including AI, robotics, IoT, and blockchain.
